Lions Spirit Projects

The Lions perform individual small service projects for Star community members in need such as painting, yard work, and minor repairs.

Patriotism Essay Contest

The Star Lions Club participates in the statewide Patriotism Essay Contest by sponsoring the contest at Star Elementary.  Students write essays on a patriotic topic and have a chance to win prizes.

Sight and Hearing

Eyeglass Collection

The Lions Club collects used eyeglasses which are cleaned, sorted and processed in Boise at the Idaho Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation facility.  The glasses are used in Lions missions to countries in need.  Collection boxes are located at Idaho Independent Bank, Star Fire Department, and Star Library.  You may also contact us and we will pick up your old eyeglasses.

Idaho Monopoly

Star Lions are selling the official Idaho edition of Monopoly to raise funds for the Idaho Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation.  The Foundation recently purchased and remodeled a building to use as the center of operations for the Idaho Eye Bank and other Foundation and Lions business.  Games are now only $25 plus tax.  Contact any Lions Club member or click here to order.

Eye Exams and Glasses

The Lions Club provides public assistance to those who cannot afford eye exams, eye glasses and eye surgeries.  Qualifing applicants may be served locally through partnerships with optomotrists and LensCrafters or may be referred to the Idaho Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation.  Contact us for more information.
